Slow Moves

”My moves are slow but soon they’ll know...”

In the early 1980s, before the era of Facebook and Instagram, when computers were just beginning to reach ordinary people, I was introduced to Pascal programming at school. Despite our teacher not being particularly tech-savvy at the time, he did a remarkable job of keeping us inspired to explore this new realm of creativity.

It was during those formative years that I became intrigued by the idea of creating my own computer games. Inspired by classics like Pac-Man and Space Invaders, I decided to try my hand at game development. Though my initial attempts resulted in only a few small test games, my passion for the craft never waned.

Fast forward to 2005, I joined a computer game company startup as a 3D animator and modeler, and in 2006 we then collaborated with Atomic Elbow to bring to life the game "Switchball," which was released in 2007 by Electronic Arts for PC and Xbox.

This piece and the following two paintings are a reflection of the ideas that first sparked my imagination during those early days of exploration and creativity.
